LE TOTEM/ Maison Pour Tous Monclar is completely suited to host children of all ages. Over 10,000 spectators come each year to the Festival Théâtr'enfants. Programming is multi-discipline and reflects the diversity and demanding quality required for children, as of a very young age, and the adults who accompany them. EVERY YEAR IN JULY SINCE 1983 within the scope of the Festival d'Avignon during a period of 16 days, LE TOTEM/ Maison Pour Tous Monclar hosts 12 to 15 artistic groups who perform their creations. EVERY YEAR IN THE SPRING, SINCE 2007, in twelve towns in the counties of Vaucluse, Gard and Bouches-Du-Rhône, le TOTEM coordinates the Festo Pitcho, a major event with live theatre for young audiences (from infant daycare to high school) organised by a Collective made up of 21 cultural, educational and municipal organisations, in a spirit of pooling of talents and resources so as to provide wide audiences with access to the performances.

Our programming works hand in hand with other cultural establishments in the area, so as to provide performances for young audiences within the scope of events for all ages. Each season has seven to eight different shows programmed, from September to May.

Le TOTEM hosts professional companies with the objective of providing its audiences with a wide diversity of artistic disciplines (theatre, dance, marionnettes.). Le TOTEM is the only structure in Vaucluse that is entirely devoted to diffusion of shows that are intended for children and their familes. Our ongoing priority is to enable our audiences to meet, to experience art. Thus, by proposing live theatre and dance to young audiences, the relation between children and the adults who accompany them experiences shared emotions which open to discussion and exchange. Above and beyond the intrinsic wortk, the extraordinary character of approaching the performing arts contributes to a positive group experience. Art and performance enrich personal culture in children, stimulate children's curiosity, feed and stimulate children's imaginations, develop their critical analysis, and open their minds to the world. Since its inception, LE TOTEM/ Early Artistic Activity has remained faithful to its conviction that art, and in particular live performances, enhance life together and contribute to the development of children and adults.

The venue is dedicated to performances for young audiences all year long, to supporting new creation, to artistic and cultural educational activities for children and families, in particular from underprivileged areas.

It is a non-profit founded in 1983 to organise the 'Festival Théâtr'enfants' which takes place each year in July in Avignon. LE TOTEM/ Early Artistic Activity, is a theatre scene that has been accredited by Art, Childhood, Youth.
